This preparatory study focuses on battery chargers and external power supplies and aims to recommend ways to improve the environmental performance of these products. It will constitute the first step in considering whether and which eco-design requirements should be set for these electric devices.

A general organisational and methodological proposal is presented in the following scheme.

The consortium in charge of the project, spanning a broad spectrum of expertise from technological know-how to environmental background, market and consumer analysis, guarantees a proper performance of the foreseen tasks.

The project implementation includes a wide consultancy and cooperation with industry federations and representatives.

The envisaged close cooperation with all relevant stakeholders will be the basis to have access to relevant data and technological developments as well as having a thorough feedback on project findings in an early stage.

Due to the strong credibility and experience of our consortium partners and the relationships built over the years with a wide variety of stakeholders such as EEE industry (including SMEs), material producers, environment and consumers NGO, industry/business associations, academic institutions, and Member States, we will have access to pertinent data and information in the framework of a confidence-based collaboration. An efficient exchange of such information will be ensured through this website and stakeholders meetings organised during the course of the study.
